Part 23 :Aradhana - Anmol Bandhan

Dilip and Surya caught up with their past while Naina and Gayatri helped Devyani in arrangements for Lakshmi puja on Deewali day. "Gayatri bhabhi! Apna Kartik ka shadi ki kuch soch rahey hai? Aaliyah aur Anittah ke shadi pehla karengey kya?" Gayatri wanted to know Naina's plans about her children's marriages. Angad was the last one to think about marriage in hierarchy of the weddings of the siblings as per Sarma's traditions and customs. And now Sarma couple wanted Kripa to get married soon with Angad as there was no hindrance to delay her marriage from their side.

Naina smiled at Gayatri as she sensed the inquisitiveness in Gayatri's enquiry. "Hum bhi Kartik ka shadi jaldi se karne ki soch rahey hai, Gayatri! Aaliyah aur Anittah ka bhi shadi ka umar hogaya hai.  Aaliyah ki shadi toh almost taiyre hochuki hai. Humara family friends ka beta hai. Bahut acha ladka hai. Wo agli saal tak rukna chahta hai. Aur Anittah ki shadi Aaliyah ki pehle toh nahin kar sakte hai. Issiliye hum Kartik ka shadi pehla karvana chahtey hai. Bahut saare riste aachuke hai. Humare khalyalon mein ek achisi ladki bhi hai. Mujhey toh wo behad pasand hai. Iss Deewali pur aap unse milsakte hai. I hope they like each other and make our decision easier."

Gayatri relaxed as there won't be any strong reason to wait for Kripa's marriage. "Yeh toh bahut achi baat huyi, Bhabhi! Hum chahtey hai uska engagement bhi issi samay tair hojaye. Hum ashirvad dekar wapas jasakengey." She gave her positive support.

Devyani silently watched them as her only desire of marriage between Kripa and Angad would be fulfilled without any opposition. Gayatri hesitated to bring the topic of proposal between Angad and Kripa without Surya's presence. She was happy as she didn't sense any opposition so far regarding the prospective proposal. But she couldn't stop her enthusiasm to reveal their interest in Khannas alliance. "Hum bhi Kripa ki shadi issi saal mein karvana chahte hai. Apna mulke mein hi bahut achey ladke hai. Kuch ladke America mein bhi kaam kar rahe hai."

Naina was relieved and at the same time surprised at Gayatri's attitude for not asking directly about their alliance. "Iski itna nakhre hai toh hum koyi iss se kum nahin hai. Khud Angad ki haat mangney tak hum bhi baat nahin chalayengey." She faintly smiled at Gayatri as thought in her mind. "Bahut achi baat hai, Gayatri! Kripa bahut sweetsi ladki hai. Kiss ghar mein jayegi wahan kushiyan bhar degi" she genuinely praised Kripa's personality.

Gayatri proudly smiled as Naina had no negative remarks on Kripa. Devyani smiled in her mind at their conversation. "Dono ki dono apne bhav nahin chodengey. Lagta hai main hi donon taraf se baat karoon."

On other side Dilip took Surya to his home office room and settled with a drink in his hand. He offered Surya too but Surya politely refused as he had no habit of drinking.

Male children of brother and sister are usually address each other "baava"

"Arey baava! Yahan badi badi partyon mein yeh sab chalta rehta hai. Na na karke bhi kabhi kabhi peena padta hai. Aur abb toh adat hi hogaya hai." He explained his habit of drinking. Surya smiled at his explanation, "it's okay, baava! Main toh apni reeti rivazon ka kabhi paar nahin kar sakta. Aur mera uthna baithna itna ameer logon se toh nahin hai.  Your so called 'high society' mein hum kabhi shamil nahin ho sakengey."

Dilip heartily laughed aloud, "haan, I agree with you. Yeh sab wo so called high society ki wajah se hi hai. Main toh humara khandan aur family life se pyar karta hoon. Magar Naina likes to move with high society and I got used to it too."

Surya shook his head as understood, "Waisey bava! Tumhara bacha bhi shadi ki umar ki ho chukey hai. Kab shadi karva rahey ho?" He turned the conversation towards the marriages in pretext of proposing Kripa for Angad.

Dilip understood his inner enthusiasm, "Hum pehle Kartik ka shadi karvana chahte hai." He explained almost in similar words of Naina with Gayatri on otherside.

Surya was silent for a moment in hesitation to move the talks forward. Dilip took initiative as patted on Surya's shoulder in friendly way, "baava! Kyon itna jhijhak raha hai. Asli baat pur ajao. Humey Kripa pasand hai. Jab tak humara observation raha Angad aur Kripa bhi ek dooserey ko bahut chahte hai."

Surya relieved as the topic moved forward from Dilip side, "mujhey maaf kardo, Baava! Main sach mein jhijhak raha hoon. Issiliye nahin ki tumhara taraf se kya response milega magar iss liye ki yeh soonya maas hai aur shadi ke baat chalana theek nahin hoga."

Dilip patted his shoulder once again, "common, baava! Don't be old fashioned. Aaj ka generation fast hai. Hum kuch nahin karpaya toh wo khud shadi karke humare saamney khade hojayenge ashirvaad ke liye. Aashirvaad ka bhi itna khayal nahin karte they just announce and move forward."

Surya smiled as agreed. "Deewali ke baad hum yeh baat ko pakka karengey. Naina Didi se bhi poochengey." He didn't know that the proposal must be moved first with Naina. Dilip settled his throat, "actually baava! Aaj ka jamana auraton ka raha. Hum ek putli ki tarah uske saat hur jagah jaatey hai. Tum samajh raha hai na? Yeh shadi ka baat toh pehla unhi se karna. Main chup rahoonga. Kuch nahin bolunga. Mere taraf se 'haan' hi samjhlo. Aur jab tak mujhey maloom hai Naina ki bhi koyi aitraaz nahin hai. It would be just a formal proposal." Surya understood the situation and agreed to propose formally after Deewali. Dilip also supported his thoughts. Both hugged each other and felt happy for reuniting the relationships.

************

Arman avoided Ridhima most of the time as he was still anger on her for going home with her father last evening. Ridhima tried to pacify him but he became more stubborn by her appeases. She brought Gobhi parathas for him from home. Arman refused to eat them in the lunch time. "Arman! Naani bahut pyar se banvaayi thi. Please khalo na. Kyon itna naraz hai mujhse. Main papa ke baat kaise taal sakti hoon jab wo humare shadi karvaney ke liye raazi horaha hai to?"

Arman sharply looked at her, "Raazi? Kab? Kaise? He didn't come to my house with proposal yet!"

Ridhima pouted her mouth, "jaroor atey! Jab tum ghar mein rehega. Tum toh subah subah yahan ajata hai aur ghar mein baat chalaney ke liye koyi badey nahin hai na?"

Arman faintly smiled at her semi accused excuse, "right Ridhima!  Hum anaadh hai na? I forgot about it. Dekho, Ridhima! Yeh shadi ho ya na ho mujhey koyi jaldi nahin hai. Take your own time. But till then mere peechey chodo. Mujhey araam se rehney do. Jab tumhara papa ko hum per daya aakar humara shadi karvayengey tab hi hum pyar karengey. Tab tak.." he left his statement half way and took a deep breath before left the canteen. She ran behind him with the lunch box in her hand, "Arman! Please itna rutho mut. Hum dinner aur breakfast mein nahin mil sakengey. Abb lunch mein bhi door raheney ki keh raha hai?"

Arman paused at her sorrowful tone and turned at her. She stood with tearful eyes. Arman melted at her tears but controlled his temptation to wipe them. She slowly walked to him, "yeh khana toh khalo, baat nahin karna chahta hai toh."

He faintly smiled, "tumhare haaton se toh nahin banaya tha na? Mujhey koyi farak nahin padta agar wo naani ka haat se ya kisi aur ke haaton se banvaya hai." Ridhima didn't respond to him and cut a piece to feed him, "Bahut narazgi hogaya hai, abb chup chap khalo." He sighed at her determination before decided to eat from her hand.

"Hey! Ghar ka khana..bahut maza ayega." Rahul came from nowhere and took the piece from her hand before Arman reached for it. Arman and Ridhima were shocked at the sudden trespassing of Rahul. Ridhima filled tears apologetically. Arman heaved a sigh and turned his face as placed his hands on either side of his waist. Rahul shamelessly had some more pieces of paratha from her lunch box.

Arman's eyes suddenly caught Dr.Gupta behind curtains in distance from canteen. Arman nodded his head with anguish as guessed the whole Rahul's encroachment was Dr.Gupta's encouragement. He clenched his teeth and planned immediately to pay back Dr.Gupta's evil acts. "Ridhima! Lagta hai Rahul was missing his home food. Why don't you give the whole box for him?" Ridhima was almost in tears. Arman looked softly at her, "hum bahar khana khayengey. Chalo."  A tear drop escaped Ridhima's eyes with excitement. Arman shook his head as he said correctly and walked her towards exit by holding her hand firmly. Arman didn't know that Rahul left the parathas with one of the nurses in the corridor as soon as they left. They neither know that Dr.Gupta banged his fists in each of hands seeing Arman and Ridhima clasped their hands firmly. Arman didn't tell Ridhima about the reason behind the change in his decision. But he didn't forget to take this situation for his advantage to pester Ridhima.

"Main ek kadam tere taraf badhaya tha. Tum bhi mere taraf aagey niklo. Aaj sham tum mere saat ghar chalo." Arman asked at the end of their lunch.

Ridhima helplessly looked at him. "Arman! Papa ney hum sab ke liye kapadey khareedney ko kahan tha. Main aur naani shopping ke liye jaana padega. Main kal hospital aa nahin sakti."

Arman sighed, "You have to do this for me, Ridhima! Humesha kuch na kuch bahana dhoondna tumhari adat hogayi hai. You are not the same Ridhima that I met on Ganesh puja. I'm lossing trust in you till you join me for Pune. Main tumhari pyar mein pagal ki tarah intezar kar raha hoon. Mujhey kabhi kabhi lagta hai ki Atul ne tumhey mere taraf bhadkaya hai mujhse badla leney. Ya tumahara papa se milkar tum mere mazak udne chali aayi thi."

Ridhima widened her eyes at his distrust and pressed his hands as assuring, "yeh kya keh raha hai? Arman! Tum mere pyar ko shak kar raha hai? Kya mere aankhon mein tumharey liye pyar nazar nahin aati. Jijoo toh mera pyar ko paaney mein meri madat kiya. Uspur ilzhaam mut karo. Aur rahi baat papa ki…trust me …Main jaroor tumhare saat Pune aoongi. Parsoon Papa ney mujhey wachan diya tha. Wo humara shadi ka jimmedari lena chahta hai. Actually he wanted to meet your bua too but this festival came in between. Main kaisey unka baat ko mana kar sakti hoon?"

Arman sighed aloud at Ridhima's innocent belief on her father. "Do as you wish, Ridhima!" he dropped her at home and left.

 *************

UUUFFF" Aaliyah irately got up from bed, "bhai! Tum bhi na kitna satata hai. Abb mujhey pata chala kyon Kripa tumhey avoid karti hai. Bechari apni mamapapa aaya hua hai. Wo kaise tumse mil sakti hai? Aur mom and Dad bhi ghar mein hai. Jidd mut karo aaj ke liye."

Angad deaf eared at her suggestions, "ek baar, Aliyah! It was two days I couldn't talk to her properly. Tum log bhi humare saat reh sakte hai. Hum chaaron uper rock garden mein masti karengey. Please!"

Anittah watched the whole drama for a while and decided to help her brother. "Bhai! I will bring Kripa as you wished. Magar khaney ke baad."

Angad twitched his lips, "I thought you are genuinely offered help. Magar tum Aaliyah se koyi kum nahin ho." Both sisters laughed at his depressive expressions. They exchanged looks as decided to help him immediately. Angad blew kiss over them "you are my great sisters. I wish every brother has one sister like you." Both sisters turned heads from doorstep "hum do hai, bhai! Every brother should have two sisters like us." Angad laughed cheerfully as shook his head.

"Gayatri maami!  Kya hum Kripa ko humare saat le jaa sakte hai?" both asked in unison as walked into Devyani's room. They dragged Kripa who was helping Teddy in making sweets for the festival celebrations. All the three women turned to them for their sudden appearance. "Kahan?" Gayatri asked eagerly. They checked Naina's warning eyes and smiled, "kahin nahin, maami! Just chut pur hum bachein kuch masti karney chah rahey hai." Gayatri relieved, "ismein poochney ki kya baat hai. jaroor le chalo." Kripa guessed Angad must have planned something with them. She walked along with them to roof garden. Angad cheerfully received them. Kripa hesitantly smiled at the arrangements. "Don't worry, Kripa! Hum bhi hai tere saat. Tumhara parents kuch nahin kahengey." Kartik reassured her walking towards them. Everyone comfortably settled aside.

Both Angad and Kripa immersed in sharing their love through looks. Anittah got bored quickly, "yeh ankhon ke batein kab khatam hogey? Do we have to be here to watch them?" she irately asked other siblings. They laughed at her usual impatience and brought Angad and Kripa into their world, "bhai! Hum yahan kuch masti karne aaye hai. Hum jaantey hai ki tum donon pyar baantney aya hai. Magar kuch humey bhi shamil karlo." Kartik taunted them jovially.  "Chalo, yeh love birds pyar ka ganey sunvayengey."Aaliyah decided the plan, "Kripa! Aaj tak hum tumhara classical gana hi suna hai. Abb pyar ka gana bhi sunado."

Kripa blushed but Angad quickly brought his guitar to sing songs for his beloved. Anittah brought two woolen blankets and both sisters settled inside them.

"Khana lag gaya hai!" Naina interrupted their program soon before they actually started enjoying. "AAAHHH" all were disappointed in unison. Kartik, Anittah and Aaliyah left immediately after conveying their empathy to Angad. Angad grabbed Kripa's hand while she was following them.

"Baava! Chodo, Aunty aur sab log neechey hai. Wo kya sochengey?" Kripa was embarrassed to stay back when others left. Angad hushed her, "ek minute ke liye bhi nahin ruk sakti?" Kripa reluctantly shook her head. Angad softly laughed at her embarrassing position and pulled her in his arms. He kissed on her lips before she protested his closeness. Kripa struggled to release herself and pushed him hard. Angad was startled as thrown away from her. He caressed his wet lips with a mischievous smile. Kripa angrily stared at him and wiped her mouth. He laughed at her frown and tried to come closer to her. She quickly ran towards stairs, "phir kabhi tere paas nahin aoongi, chahe tumhare behnon ko bhejo ya khud apne parents ko." Angad laughed heartful and blew a kiss to her, "you cannot resist me, baavi!' She mocked and stuck tongue out before disappeared.
